A Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides direct behavioral and therapeutic support to individuals in a structured day treatment setting The specialist implements individualized treatment and behavior plans under the supervision of clinical staff to promote emotional regulation positive behavior and skill development.
Primary Duties:
- Implement behavior intervention and treatment plans as assigned.
- Support clients during group activities classroom instruction and therapeutic sessions.
- Monitor behaviors and use approved deescalation and behavior management strategies.
- Collect and document behavioral data progress notes and incident reports.
- Assist clients with coping skills social skills and daily routines.
- Maintain a safe structured and supportive environment.
- Collaborate with clinicians teachers and treatment team members.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional needs preferred.
- Bachelors degree in human services psychology education or a related field required OR a minimum of four 4 years of relevant experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional needs.
- Strong communication observation and documentation skills.
